Things I've learned...
You can't be completely unguarded with someone that doesn't truly love you for you without risking the pain of rejection.
No matter how much you want someone to be THE one, their decisions can break your heart and feed it to you all in the matter of a minute.
Offering the world to that one person can backfire on you no matter how good your intentions are (the road to hell is paved with good intentions comes to mind lol)
Your life can change in the blink of an eye if you're not watching what's going on around you. So it's best to keep your eyes open and checking the scenery for pot holes lol.
The one thing that I forgot in the course of the last couple months...everything is a matter of perception. Whether it's yours or someone else's...it can affect your life in drastic ways.
With all of that being said...I think I'll stick with being a hermit...and guarded...at least for a little bit.
